Chicken Piccata originates from Italy where it is traditionally made with veal. In the United States, Piccata is much more often made with chicken than veal. Chicken Piccata is a dish that tastes delicious and complex, but in reality is very simple to prepare. Because the chicken is fairly simple, so I decided to pair it with homemade noodles!
The chicken in this dish will be pounded thin and lightly coated with flour, then fried in oil for a crispy, yet also light taste. I love the way chicken prepared this way tastes because you can still get the taste of fried chicken, while also tasting soft chewy chicken.
I enjoy making homemade noodles with many of my pasta dishes because it makes them more authentic. Pasta is much simpler to make than you would think. It only takes about 10 minutes to make the dough, then another 10-20 to cut the pasta to your liking. Homemade noodles makes any pasta dish taste as though a lot of effort and care was put in to the meal.
Let's get into this recipe!
